Master's Degree Program

Welcome to the American College of Acupuncture & Oriental Medicine (ACAOM). Founded in 1991 and based in Houston, ACAOM has grown from an independent academy to a leading acupuncture and herbology school in the country. ACAOM has been featured on the PBS show The Connection, and was voted one of the top four schools in the country by TCM Student in 2003.

Through its cooperation with Memorial Hermann/Houston Baptist University Wellness Center, Methodist Hospital, M.D. Anderson Cancer Center, Rice University, and University of Houston Clear Lake Health Center and Legacy Community Health Center, the College is one of the most respected and integrative minded of its kind. Its China hospital agreements allow students to study abroad, and its cooperation with multiple clinics around the city allow acupuncture to be delivered to patients in need as part of its community service program.

Description
The ACAOM program was specifically designed for adult learners. A great advantage of our curriculum is the flexibility. Currently, most courses in Chinese herbs and acupuncture are offered in the evenings for professionals who work full time during the day. Students can switch between full time and part time status throughout their enrollment, and counselors will work with students to ensure that they fulfill their academic requirements in a timely manner.  Students concentrate on didactic courses the first few years, and then focus on the practical training in the last year.
