Why Become an Acupuncturist?
Whether you’re already in the healthcare industry or new to the field, you’ll find a deep sense of fulfillment in seeing the positive results of holistic healing and helping patients achieve a greater level of wellness from a degree from a regionally accredited acupuncture college like ACAOM.
Career Trajectory
After the program, you will have many opportunities and options in your career as an acupuncturist. A popular option for graduates is opening your own practice and becoming an independent practitioner. Entering this booming job market as an acupuncturist will give you the opportunity to have a high earning potential.
Healing & Helping People
Acupuncture is often the last resort for people who are struggling with pain management, infertility, depression, anxiety, and many other conditions. A career as an acupuncturist will allow you to help people naturally with techniques that have been proven to work for thousands of years.
Expanding Your Portfolio
If you’re already a healthcare provider, you can expand your treatment portfolio practice by earning an additional degree in Oriental medicine. We’ve found that embracing the tenets of Western science and the natural traditions of the East can deliver the best results for every person you treat.

Why Choose ACAOM?
At ACAOM, we’re invested in our students’ success. You’ll find incredible value in an ACAOM education as you gain hands-on experience, build professional skills, and grow your network. These experiences will boost your earning potential in one of the fastest growing segments in healthcare.
Focus on Integrative Medicine
Unlike other acupuncture colleges, we partner with mainstream hospitals like Houston Methodist Hospital and believe that a combination of Eastern and Western medicine allows acupuncture to be more effective and helps graduates to provide better treatment to patients.
Regionally Accredited
With accreditations from Accreditation Commission for Acupuncture and Herbal Medicine and Southern Association of Colleges and School Commission on Colleges, ACAOM is the only accredited traditional acupuncture college in Houston and one of few that is regionally accredited in the U.S.
Networking & Collaboration with Universities
ACAOM collaborates on research projects and courses with universities including Rice University, University of St. Thomas, and University of Houston plus a network of ten sister schools in Asia that offers student and faculty exchange opportunities.
Hands-On Learning
We’re committed to educating students not only in the classroom, but also through patient interaction. In effort with Rice University, courses in leadership and communication help to train students on best practices in leadership and communication in healthcare.
Clinic & Team Management Training
Supervised clinical training provides students with hands-on experience with high-quality and clinically appropriate treatments, as you also develop communication skills and become seasoned in best practices in patient safety.
Post-Grad Employment Opportunities
Apply to become a clinician at our clinic after graduation. If you’re not ready to start your own practice, this is a great stepping stone for graduates to start their acupuncture career.
Free Acupuncture
Acupuncture is a great way to relieve stress and keeping our students healthy is a priority. That’s why we offer free acupuncture to students at our main clinic.
