Cannabis Medicine I

This course will explore the history of medical cannabis around the world and historical practices of hemp in the United States. Students will study the endocannabinoid system and the vital role it plays in maintaining homeostasis in the body. The phytocannabinoids will be discussed including their medicinal function and side effects along with other phytochemicals found within the cannabis plant. Cannabis chemovars and their therapeutic use for specific medical conditions are examined. Dosing, ratios, concentrations, and consumption methods are learned along with ethical, safety, and legal implications of cannabis medicine.

Naturopathic Medicine I
This course introduces naturopathic medicine principles to students including the philosophy and history of the discipline. Educational requirements of naturopathic physicians including pathology, biochemistry, pharmacology, microbiology, physiology and more will be discussed. Students will learn about naturopathic modalities and how they apply to patient care in a clinical setting. Dietary supplements, hydrotherapy, life coaching, physical manipulation, minor surgery, acupuncture, herbal medicine, nutritional counseling, and other holistic health topics related to naturopathic medical practices will be explored. Naturopathic approaches to common health conditions will be learned.
Naturopathic Medicine II
Certificate in Wellness Management and Rice University Management Certificate
$4668 / Duration 1-2 semesters/~7-11 hours per week
Attendees will receive two certificates. The ACAOM certificate will introduce the concepts of Chinese medicine philosophies via a self-paced course in acupuncture, Chinese medicine philosophy, Chinese medicine physiology, and herbal medicine. It will also introduce concepts of integrative wellness and theories and principles of health promotion. The Rice University’s certificate in Leadership Principles Certificate Program will help attendees discover their leadership style and refine their skills for maximum impact. It will also assist those aspiring for leadership roles to reach new levels of success by teaching cutting-edge leadership and management concepts.
Acupressure (Onsite)

This course will introduce major acupuncture points on the 12 regular meridians. Students will learn about the location and functions. This course will be onsite in order to practice point location.
